About the role
Are you passionate about restoring vintage and classic cars to their original glory? Do you enjoy customising vehicles to meet modern performance and aesthetic standards? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic specialising in classic vehicle restoration. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a deep appreciation for automotive history, and the ability to blend traditional craftsmanship with innovative techniques.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of classic vehicles to evaluate restoration needs.
- Develop customised restoration plans.
- Research historical accuracy and authenticity of parts and materials.
- Perform detailed mechanical, electrical, and bodywork restoration tasks.
- Customise vehicles according to client specifications, integrating modern technologies while preserving classic aesthetics.
- Source original, reproduction, or custom parts and materials.
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed.
- Maintain meticulous records of restoration and customisation activities.
- Provide regular updates on project progress.
- Conduct rigorous quality inspections and testing throughout the process.
- Address any issues or concerns promptly to maintain project timelines and exceed client expectations
Skills and experience
- Extensive experience in classic vehicle restoration and customisation.
- Deep knowledge of vintage automotive systems, including mechanical, electrical, and bodywork.
- Proficiency in using traditional tools and modern equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Manual dexterity and precision in handling delicate or intricate components.
