About the role
As Workshop Controller, you’ll oversee workshop operations to ensure quality work, efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met. This role is ideal for a highly skilled, proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong customer-focused approach. Duties
- Set and monitor labour time goals to ensure productivity.
- Manage daily workshop operations, including work allocation and progress tracking.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer standards for “fix it right the first time.”
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Conduct road testing and quality checks on completed work.
- Report directly to the Service Manager for guidance and support.
- Provide high-quality customer service and accurate quotations for any additional work.
Skills and experience
Required:
- Trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
- Valid HR driver’s license.
- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or Foreman.
Preferred:
- Additional automotive/mechanical qualifications.
- Proven ability to meet set KPI targets with a motivated, driven attitude.
- Strong experience in fast-paced workshop settings
