About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for an Accessories Installer to join the team in Slacks Creek, QLD, working on specialised vehicle modifications and mobility solutions. From steering wheel controls to wheelchair lifts, our client offers a range of products designed to aid drivers with mobility issues.
Duties
- Install disability adaptations and vehicle accessories to new vehicles
- Carry out custom fabrication work in aluminium and steel
- Perform TIG welding and MIG welding as required
- Fit and modify components including hand controls, seating, wheelchair loaders, pedal modifications and low-floor conversions
- Read drawings, follow instructions, and fabricate custom solutions to specification
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, customer requirements, and WHS guidelines
- Work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative workshop team
- Assist with general workshop duties, including cleaning and tool/equipment maintenance
- Support other workshop team members and projects as required
- Participate in training and skills development relevant to the role
Skills and experience
- Open to a multitude of trades including but not limited to:
- Motor Body Builder
- Fabricator / Welder / Fitter
- Mechanic with strong fabrication capability
- Proven intermediate-level fabrication and welding experience
- MIG & TIG welding experience highly regarded
- Alloy welding experience highly regarded
- Ability to assess jobs, problem-solve, and fabricate custom solutions
- Comfortable working unsupervised and managing own workload
- Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
- Confident using power tools and workshop equipment
- Electrical experience not required (auto-electrical support provided), but advantageous
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a small team environment
