About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join a professional workshop team in Artarmon, specialising in advanced fault diagnosis, repairs, and technical support across a diverse range of modern vehicles.
Duties
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using scan tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and manufacturer diagnostic systems
- Perform diagnostic testing across engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, and electrical systems
- Interpret fault codes, wiring diagrams, repair manuals, and technical service bulletins to identify and resolve issues
- Conduct vehicle inspections, road tests, and post-repair verification to ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards
- Provide technical guidance to workshop technicians while maintaining accurate service records and compliance with WHS requirements
Skills and experience
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent trade qualification)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience with modern automotive systems
- Proficiency using advanced diagnostic equipment, workshop tools, and manufacturer software
- Current Australian driver’s license with excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to ongoing training, professional development, and staying current with evolving vehicle technologies
