About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join a busy workshop maintaining a large commercial fleet in Arndell Park, NSW.
Duties
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heavy vehicle fleets.
- Refrigeration and/or electrical experience highly regarded but not essential
- Conduct repairs, diagnostics, and troubleshooting; escalate complex or dealer-specific work as needed.
- Collaborate with supervisors, mechanics, and admin staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in on-call roster and support operational needs during peak periods or restricted leave times.
- Contribute positively to team culture and assist with occasional team activities.
Skills and experience
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
- HC (Heavy Combination) license desirable; forklift license advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy vehicle maintenance; experience with Volvo and MAN trucks or other European brands highly regarded but not essential
- Knowledge of refrigeration and electrical systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of NVHR accreditation requirements beneficial
- Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to work occasional Saturdays and participate in rotating on-call roster.
- Proficient with workshop systems and safe tool/equipment use.
