International Technical Recruitment Specialist (Remote) – South Africa  

  • Act as our “man on the ground” in South Africa, sourcing, screening, and interviewing skilled automotive trades candidates for our Australian clients.
  • Manage the full recruitment process by taking job briefs from clients, matching quality candidates, and preparing them for successful placements.
  • Please note: ability to work a mix of South African & Australian hours is essential (Approx 9hrs time difference)

About the role 
We are looking for a driven and reliable Technical Recruitment Specialist ( With a mechanical background, recruitment experience NOT needed )  to join our International Recruitment team as our dedicated “man on the ground” in South Africa. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and qualifying skilled automotive candidates (mechanics, technicians, panel beaters, etc.) to meet the needs of our Australian clients. You will work closely with our Sydney-based and South African team by taking detailed job briefs from clients, matching high-quality candidates, and coordinating end-to-end recruitment processes. A key part of the role involves facilitating client recruitment trips in South Africa — including arranging in-person interviews, hosting and looking after Australian clients during their visits, and ensuring a smooth and professional experience from arrival to departure. This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication skills, excellent organisation, and the ability to build trust with both candidates and clients.
  
Duties

  • Source, screen, interview, and qualify skilled trades candidates (mechanics, technicians, panel beaters, engineers, boilermakers and other trades) across South Africa to meet the specific requirements of our Australian clients.
  • Take detailed job briefs from Australian clients and proactively match them with high-quality, suitable candidates.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle for assigned roles, including candidate sourcing, skills assessments, shortlisting, and preparation for client interviews.
  • Coordinate and facilitate client recruitment trips in South Africa — arranging in-person interviews, scheduling, venues, and providing on-the-ground support and hosting for visiting Australian clients.
  • Work closely with the Sydney-based international team to ensure a smooth, efficient, and professional end-to-end recruitment process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates and clients.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Australian team and clients throughout the recruitment process.
  • Freedom to travel from time to time to the Philippines to support our other international team
  • Working hybrid Australian and South African work hours

  Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a role as a mechanic of some description (automotive, mechanical, or heavy vehicle experience is highly regarded).
  • Proven track record of success in other roles in your career 
  • Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills, with the ability to accurately evaluate technical competencies and cultural fit. ( We will help train you to meet our requirements ) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to deal with both candidates and Australian clients professionally.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple recruitments and client visits simultaneously.
  • Professional presentation and the ability to represent the company to a high standard when hosting clients in South Africa.
  • Competent with computers and using Microsoft suite 
  • Based in Johannesburg preferably , will consider Cape Town, or Durban.
  • Full right to work in South Africa
