About the role
We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand for our client in Campbelltown. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this hands-on role will focus on training new and existing employees and ensuring smooth operations in the workshop.

Duties

• Manage work allocation within the team and direct technicians to facilitate repairs
• Train and support workshop staff in repair techniques to meet agreed completion times
• Identify and report any workshop equipment needing repairs to maintain efficiency and safety
• Monitor jobs and provide feedback to the parts department about potential shortages
• Collaborate with Workshop and Factory personnel to investigate and resolve quality issues
• Ensure completed trailers are quality-checked before job sign-off or by the Supervisor
• Inspect products to standards and liaise with Workshop Management if issues arise
• Perform ad hoc tasks as directed by Dealer Management
• Support workshop productivity and efficiency targets

Skills and experience

• Must be Trade Qualified Mechanic.
• Previous experience as a Leading Hand or Supervisor is desirable
• Experience in the heavy vehicle or transport industry
• Proven ability to support and build rapport with team members
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
