About the role
We’re looking for a skilled Light Vehicle Mechanic to take on major repairs—engines, timing belts, and more—multiple roles available due to business growth. You’ll focus on hands-on mechanical work while being backed by a supportive team, modern tools, and real career growth.
Duties
- Perform major mechanical repairs on light vehicles, including engine rebuilds and timing belt replacements.
- Complete manufacturer-approved warranty repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Focus on hands-on mechanical work rather than diagnostics.
- Carry out scheduled services, logbook maintenance, PDIs, and roadworthy inspections.
- Maintain clear, accurate records for all repairs and warranty work.
- Communicate job updates to service advisors and workshop leaders.
- Follow dealership safety standards and repair procedures.
- Stay updated on automotive service bulletins and technical training.
- Support apprentices and contribute to a positive workshop environment.
Skills and experience
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent) – required
- Valid Motor Mechanic Trade Licence
- 2–3+ years’ experience in a dealership or workshop setting
- Strong skills in servicing, repairs, and light diagnostics
- Can read and follow technical manuals and repair guides
- Warranty repair experience is a plus
- Confident using scan tools and workshop systems
- Reliable, on time, and takes pride in quality work
- Manual Australian driver’s licence preferred
- Must have full working rights in Australia (visa holders welcome)
