Our client is an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Hemmant, Brisbane. The company designs, develops, manufactures and sells premium custom-built aluminium and steel trailers for the Australian bulk haulage market. With a strong focus on innovation, strength, safety and quality, the business delivers specialized trailer solutions and services to its customers across Australia. 
  
About the role  
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a skilled team in Hemmant, QLD, delivering high-quality assembly, fitting, and manufacturing solutions in a fast-paced engineering environment. 
  
Duties 

• Read and interpret workshop drawings to determine job requirements and specifications. 
• Select and safely use appropriate materials, machinery, hand tools, and equipment. 
• Complete mechanical fitting and assembly work to a high standard of quality within required timeframes. 
• Identify and report product quality issues and assist with customer modifications where required. 
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, company policies, SOPs and relevant legislation. 

Skills and experience  

• Relevant Mechanical Fitting trade qualification or equivalent industry experience. 
• Previous experience in mechanical fitting, small vehicle mechanics, diesel mechanics, or coachbuilding. 
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret workshop drawings. 
• Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and confidence using tools and equipment. 
• Strong focus on quality, safety, accuracy and attention to detail.

• Monday to Thursday: 6:30am – 4:30pm | Friday finish at 1:30pm
