Our client is a fast-growing multi-franchise dealership in Gunnedah, Northwest NSW with a dedicated team, modern workshop, and a strong focus on providing quality service to their customers. They represent several globally renowned brands and provide sales, service and parts offerings to customers in Gunnedah and the wider Namoi Valley community.

About the role  
As a Parts Interpreter, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations both for the on site workshop and to external trade and retail customers.  You’ll manage stock levels, process orders, and provide expert advice—no automotive background needed as full training will be provided, just a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills. Working some of the best known names in the automotive industry, you’ll join a supportive team in a modern dealership environment, with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow your career. 
  
Duties 

  • Report to the Fixed Operations Manager and handle front/back counter and phone spare parts inquiries. 
  • Provide accurate parts interpretation and service to internal and external customers. 
  • Manage circa $500K inventory and assist with stock takes as/when required.
  • Process stock orders and parts returns.
  • Use computer systems for inventory and order management. 
  • Interpret part numbers and parts catalogue diagrams (training provided if no car background). 

Skills and experience 

  • Strong customer service and communication skills 
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Ability to interpret parts diagrams and technical info (or willingness to learn) 
  • Inventory management or stock control experience 
  • Problem-solving and multitasking abilities 
  • Team player with a proactive attitude 
  • Organisational and time management skills 
  • Automotive experience desirable but not essential
  • Relevant skills from similar industries (retail, warehousing, logistics, etc.)
