About the role
We are seeking experienced parts interpreters to join a large and highly successful parts team; all backgrounds considered, if you have light vehicle, plant or heavy equipment parts experience and are considering a move into the commercial vehicle industry, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities
- Accurately identify and interpret part numbers, descriptions, and specifications for trucks and other commercial vehicles
- Provide technical support and advice to workshop staff, sales teams, and customers regarding parts compatibility and alternatives.
- Maintain and update parts databases, catalogs, and inventory records.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source parts and obtain pricing or availability information.
- Assist in ordering and tracking parts to ensure timely delivery.
- Support service and maintenance teams with technical documentation, exploded diagrams, and wiring/parts schematics.
- May occasionally assist in stock management or light warehousing duties.
- Help troubleshoot vehicle or equipment issues by identifying required replacement parts.
Requirements / Skills
- Certificate III in Automotive, Heavy Vehicle, or Mechanical/Parts discipline preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle parts, assemblies, and mechanical components (heavy, light, or plant).
- Familiarity with parts catalogues, OEM systems, and inventory management software.
- Good numeracy and attention to detail for interpreting part numbers and technical specs.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with technicians, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
- Organised, methodical, and able to prioritise tasks under pressure.
- Previous workshop, parts, or mechanical experience is highly desirable.
