About the role
Join a dynamic trade sales team where you’ll support panel beaters and repairers at the counter, mix and match automotive paints, and offer expert advice on products and applications. With your paint or panel background, you’ll help customers get the perfect finish—while building strong relationships and keeping the shop floor running smoothly. This is a great opportunity to grow into senior or on-the-road sales roles.
Duties
- Provide over-the-counter sales support to trade customers including panel beaters, paint shops, and repairers
- Advise on product selection, usage, and application based on customer needs and job requirements
- Mix automotive paint to exact colour specifications using tinting systems and colour matching tools
- Assist customers with colour match issues, product compatibility, and technical queries
- Ensure shelves and stock levels are maintained, assisting with stock control and inventory checks
- Process sales orders efficiently and accurately using internal systems
- Maintain a clean, organised trade counter and build rapport with regular customers
- Support external sales and technical teams by preparing products or information ahead of scheduled site visits
- Stay up to date with product knowledge and industry developments
- Leverage your background in paint or panel work to provide expert product advice
- Deliver exceptional service in an internal sales, counter-based role

Skills and experience
- Trade-qualified spray painter with hands-on experience in colour matching, paint mixing, and product use
- Strong technical knowledge of automotive paint systems and refinishing processes
- Confident advising other tradespeople and customers in a retail/trade counter setting
- High attention to detail when mixing colours and processing orders
- Friendly and professional communication skills, with a focus on customer service
- Organised and reliable, able to manage stock and maintain product displays
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with team members
- Experience using paint mixing/tinting systems and colour matching tools
- Previous retail, warehouse, or counter sales experience (preferred but not essential)
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and unrestricted working rights in Australia
