Turn your trade into a career! We’re looking for a skilled Truck Mechanic & Auto Electrician who’s ready to take the next step. If you love hands-on work, solving problems, and being part of a team that values your skills — this is the role for you.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in heavy vehicles and trucks
- Carry out scheduled servicing, maintenance, and safety inspections (mechanics)
- Carry out in depth diagnosis and electrical fault finding, utilising scan tools and electrical diagrams as required (auto electricians)
- Collaborate with workshop team to meet job deadlines and maintain high safety standards
- Use scan tools and manuals to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues
- Maintain accurate service records and report on completed work
- Assist with pre-delivery inspections and ensure vehicles meet compliance standards
- Keep the workshop clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Skills and experience
- Relevant trade qualifications (Certificate III in Automotive – Diesel/Mechanical/Electrical)
- Proven experience working on light or heavy commercial vehicles
- Hands-on experience in truck air conditioning diagnostics and repairs
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Confident using scan tools and interpreting diagnostic reports
- Programming experience with engine and electrical systems is highly regarded
- Must have a comprehensive set of tools suitable for the role
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
