Join a growing team as a Vehicle Damage Assessor in Sydney’s CBD, working with a large self-insured fleet in a stable, office-based role. You’ll handle assessments, review third-party quotes, and arrange repairs without the hassle of customer-facing work. Ideal for someone with paint and panel experience and at least two years as an assessor or estimator, this is a great opportunity to build your career in a fast-expanding business.
Duties
- Assess vehicle damage for a self-insured fleet and determine safe, cost-effective repair solutions.
- Arrange repairs with appropriate repairers based on type and complexity of damage.
- Review third-party insurer quotes for at-fault incidents to ensure fairness and accuracy.
- Compile and submit detailed assessment reports to Customer Service for claims processing.
- Monitor repair timelines to optimise fleet utilisation.
- Maintain accurate records in Fleetio and related fleet/assessment systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support operational and fleet management goals
Skills and experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle assessor or estimator; candidates straight from the shop floor are not suitable.
- Trade or hands-on background in paint, panel, or motor repairs; formal qualifications helpful but practical experience is key.
- Strong understanding of vehicle structure, damage assessment, and repair cost estimation.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating repair scopes and third-party quotes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Confident computer skills, including experience with assessment/fleet systems (Fleetio or similar).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
