About the role  
Ready to take the next step in your career? This is an ideal role for a mechanic looking to move towards an off-the-tools position. Guide, mentor and support the workshop and wider dealership team to deliver excellent levels of customer service. Proven experience as a truck mechanic and strong diagnostic skills are essential, preferably gained in a main dealer environment.
  
Duties 

• Oversee daily workshop operations and manage job flow. 
• Support and mentor technicians, especially on complex jobs. 
• Ensure high-quality work through checks and road tests. 
• Update service advisors/customers on job status or delays. 
• Keep job cards and documentation accurate and complete. 
• Ensure compliance with OH&S and company policies. 
• Lead by example and help maintain a positive team culture. 

Skills and experience 

• Qualified automotive technician (Cert III or equivalent) 
• Proven experience in a workshop leadership or senior tech role 
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to guide and mentor a team effectively 
• Solid understanding of OH&S and workshop compliance 
• Excellent communication and customer service skills 
• Confident using workshop software and job card systems 
• Reliable, organised, and focused on quality and efficiency
