About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for an experienced Workshop Foreman / Senior Technician to lead, mentor, and support a developing team while remaining involved in diagnostics and complex repairs.
Duties
- Split your time between hands-on diagnostics (approx. 40%) and team leadership/support (60%)
- Guide, train, and mentor a young team of technicians and apprentices
- Handle technical cases and liaise with OEM support for efficient resolutions
- Oversee workshop productivity with 20–30 repair orders per day across a 6-person team
- Perform and support advanced repairs including engine replacements, cylinder head work, and timing system repairs
- Improve diagnostic processes and help the team build confidence and logical fault-finding skills
- Assist in maintaining high standards of workmanship and workshop efficiency
Skills and experience
- Certificate III in Automotive (essential)
- 10+ years’ experience (dealership background preferred but not essential)
- AIS Examiner’s License (essential)
- Air Conditioning License (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Strong diagnostic ability with a logical, process-driven mindset
- Positive attitude with a passion for mentoring and team development
