Our client, Heka Hoods, is an awning system without brackets, providing minimalist styling with functional protection from the elements.
We are looking for a highly skilled and reliable First-Class Metal Machinist to operate both Lathe and Milling machines, working with steel and alloy materials ranging from 1mm to 6mm in thickness. The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret blueprints, demonstrate a high aptitude for machining tasks, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain Lathe and Milling machines to produce high-precision metal parts from steel and alloy materials (1mm to 6mm thickness).
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations, tool selection, and machining parameters.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure parts meet strict quality standards and tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Perform deburring, polishing, and other finishing operations to meet required surface finish and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine or part-related issues during the machining process.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to optimize production and improve machining processes.
- Keep accurate records of machine settings, work performed, and any problems encountered during production.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, responsibility, and a positive attitude in all aspects of work.
- 1 Full-Time Position/s
- $75,000-$90,000 PA depending on the work experience.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a First-Class Metal Machinist, with extensive experience working with Lathe and Milling machines.
- Solid experience machining steel and alloy materials (1mm to 6mm thickness).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Strong aptitude for precision machining tasks, with keen attention to detail and high-quality standards.
- Positive attitude, with a commitment to quality and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and adapt to changing production needs.
- Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Knowledge of machining processes such as turning, milling, and grinding.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively collaborate as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset.
