The Truck Mechanic is responsible for serving and repairing as per repair order instructions within the service department. The truck mechanic is to promote customer satisfaction to the required dealer standards. They also will oversee the work of any apprentice technician assigned to him.

The Job:
- Perform work as per the repair order instructions
- Advise of any additional work that is required to the workshop
- foreman
- Document all work performed including cause and correction and recommend any work not carried out during service and repair.
- Ensure that the customer vehicle is left as they found it (included cleanliness, movement of the seat, radio, Bluetooth and mirror adjustments)
- Supervision of any apprentice that you are assigned
- Appropriately and safely operate all tools and equipment as mandated through safety training. Report any safety, equipment defects or malfunction issues to management immediately.
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Attend all dealership and service department meetings and online training when requested.
- Keep workshop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all times.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Trade Certificate
- Drivers Licenses equivalent to role, car, light duty, truck and
agriculture - Technical Knowledge as per their qualification specifications
- Customer service focused: committed to providing
exceptional customer service across all channels – written,
phone and face to face. - Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and
concisely, varying communication style depending upon the
audience. - Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written
skills when communicating with others, both internally and

- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on small to large trucks
- Provides on site and breakdown assistance.
- Diagnose problems from electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
- Perform mechanical and general reconditioning of trucks.
- Repair or replace heavy-duty truck brake bearings and air systems.
- Remove and fit axles and suspension-type bushes.
- Perform routine duties in accordance with established and documented processes as required.
- Diagnose faults in systems and rectify.
- Plan work so that it is done efficiently and in accordance with industry standards.
