About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for an experienced Truck Workshop Controller to oversee workshop operations, manage technician workflow, and ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Duties
- Oversee daily workshop operations and manage the workflow of technicians
- Ensure jobs are allocated correctly and completed within expected timeframes
- Monitor repairs and intervene when jobs are taking longer than expected
- Coordinate with technical support when complex issues arise
- Provide guidance to mechanics on electrical repairs, engine rebuilds, and transmission work when required
- Maintain technician productivity and ensure the workshop remains efficiently utilised
- Communicate with the service/front desk team regarding repair progress and delays
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to reduce rework and ensure faults are fully rectified
Skills and experience
- Extensive technical experience in heavy vehicle or truck repairs
- Senior-level mechanical background with strong diagnostic capabilities
- Experience with truck engine, transmission, and electrical repairs
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate between technicians and front desk staff
- Ability to manage workflow, guide technicians, and minimise downtime
- Experience implementing or maintaining workshop quality control processes
- Solid background working within truck service and repair environments
