Our client operates a well-established heavy vehicle service and repair facility located in the North East Shepparton region. Known for delivering reliable maintenance and repair solutions for trucks, the business prides itself on technical excellence, strong teamwork, and maintaining high service standards for its customers. 
  
About the role 
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for an experienced Truck Workshop Controller to oversee workshop operations, manage technician workflow, and ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard. 
  
Duties 

  • Oversee daily workshop operations and manage the workflow of technicians 
  • Ensure jobs are allocated correctly and completed within expected timeframes 
  • Monitor repairs and intervene when jobs are taking longer than expected 
  • Coordinate with technical support when complex issues arise 
  • Provide guidance to mechanics on electrical repairs, engine rebuilds, and transmission work when required 
  • Maintain technician productivity and ensure the workshop remains efficiently utilised 
  • Communicate with the service/front desk team regarding repair progress and delays 
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to reduce rework and ensure faults are fully rectified 

Skills and experience  

  • Extensive technical experience in heavy vehicle or truck repairs 
  • Senior-level mechanical background with strong diagnostic capabilities 
  • Experience with truck engine, transmission, and electrical repairs 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and make informed decisions 
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate between technicians and front desk staff 
  • Ability to manage workflow, guide technicians, and minimise downtime 
  • Experience implementing or maintaining workshop quality control processes 
  • Solid background working within truck service and repair environments
