About the role
We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand for our client in Campbelltown. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this hands-on role will focus on training new and existing employees and ensuring smooth operations in the workshop.
Duties
- Manage work allocation within the team and direct technicians to facilitate repairs
- Train and support workshop staff in repair techniques to meet agreed completion times
- Identify and report any workshop equipment needing repairs to maintain efficiency and safety
- Monitor jobs and provide feedback to the parts department about potential shortages
- Collaborate with Workshop and Factory personnel to investigate and resolve quality issues
- Ensure completed trailers are quality-checked before job sign-off or by the Supervisor
- Inspect products to standards and liaise with Workshop Management if issues arise
- Perform ad hoc tasks as directed by Dealer Management
- Support workshop productivity and efficiency targets
Skills and experience
- Must be Trade Qualified Mechanic.
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand or Supervisor is desirable
- Experience in the heavy vehicle or transport industry
- Proven ability to support and build rapport with team members
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
